Land Use & Design
Like natural resources, the built environment is a local resource that should be carefully managed by each community to ensure growth patterns are consistent with the needs and desires of its residents. Land Use is also closely associated with economic development potential, as well as redevelopment and community development opportunities. MCCOG has the expertise to identify current conditions and provide a roadmap for the future of a community. Additionally, MCCOG can provide support to communities through the management and development of local land use and development ordinances, design standards, and administrative oversight procedures to enable a community to adequately manage their local land use and growth.
