Title VI Compliance

Title VI and Nondiscrimination Commitment:

Pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related laws and regulation, the Madison County Council of Governments will not exclude from participation in, deny the benefits of, or subject to discrimination anyone on the grounds of race, color, and national origin.

Equal Employment Opportunity:

The Madison County Council of Governments is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate in the terms, conditions, or privileges of employment on account of race, age, color, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, or religion or otherwise as may be prohibited by federal and state law. Complaint Procedures:

The Madison County Council of Governments (MCCOG) has established a discrimination complaint procedure and will take prompt and reasonable action to investigate and eliminate discrimination when found. Any person that believes that he or she has been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with the Madison County Council of Governments. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with the Madison County Council of Governments' Title VI/ADA Coordinator within ninety (90) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence. ADA/504 Statement:

Pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and related federal and state laws and regulation, the Madison County Council of Governments (MCCOG) will make every effort to ensure that it's facilities, programs, services, and activities are accessible to those with disabilities. It is the policy of MCCOG that all public meetings and events comply with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and are accessible to people with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities, as defined under the ADA, who may need auxiliary aids, services, or special modifications to participate in a public meeting or event should contact the office of MCCOG's Title VI/ADA Coordinator 765-641-9482 as soon as possible, but no less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled meeting or event. Services are provided free without charge for individuals with special needs with disabilities.
