Join us for dinner and a select panel of representatives to better understand the importance and impact of thinking with a regional perspective; how communities develop, grow, and sustain themselves; and what considerations should be made to build partnerships between communities and across county boundaries. 
EVENT SPEAKERS
Gabe Klein: Entrepreneur, Investor, & Author... 
Gabe Klein, founding partner of Cityfi, advising governments and companies worldwide on innovation in cities. Mr. Klein is also the former commissioner of both the Chicago and DC DOTs where he relentlessly revamped arcane government processes and communication internally and externally to eliminate speed to implementation with a focus on putting people first vs. automobiles on city streets.
Chris Leinberger: National Real Estate Expert & Consultant...
Chris Leinberger is a land use strategist, teacher, developer, researcher and author, balancing business realities with social and environmental concerns. Mr. Leinberger is the Charles Bendit Distinguished Scholar and Research Professor and Chair of the Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis at the George Washington University School of Business; president of Locus: Responsible Real Estate Developers and Investors; a Nonresident Senior Fellow at Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program in Washington DC; and founding partner of Arcadia Land Company, a New Urbanism and transit-oriented development firm based in Philadelphia.
Regional Panel
Gabe Klein and Chris Leinberger will be joined with corporate, non-profit, and academic representatives on a panel fielding audience question regarding regionalism in the Greater Indianapolis Metro Area and Central Indiana Region.

The event is targeted at community leaders, citizens, elected officials, city planners, developers, corporate representatives, business owners, and those in the fields of urban planning, community development, civil engineering, and economic development.
Bill Ehret, SIOR
Bill Ehret opened the Avison Young office in 2015. Prior to embarking on his journey with Avison Young, he launched Summit Realty Group in 1993 before spearheading its move to the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance in 2002. Ehret with his partners and team philosophy grew the Indianapolis operation from five to 75 members, enabling it to become one of the top 15 commercial real estate firms in the U.S. Midwest. He also served on the Cushman and Wakefield Alliance Executive Committee from 2006 to 2014
Christopher Zimmerman 
Christopher Zimmerman is Smart Growth America’s Vice President for Economic Development and Director of the Governors’ Institute on Community Design. An economist by training, Chris heads the team which provides quantitative analysis for data-driven policy recommendations, such as modeling the fiscal impact of development patterns or quantifying potential loss of affordable housing from rising real estate values. He leads SGA’s Technical Assistance program for equitable Transit-Oriented Development (eTOD) and oversees the downtown revitalization program, which provides training and technical assistance to local officials.
John Waters 
President of Waters & Associates (W&A), John Waters, is an entrepreneurial and business development professional with over 25 years in energy, enterprise solutions, sustainability, strategic planning, and transportation. At W&A, John leads a professional network to support corporate clients in achieving breakthrough products and solutions, while meeting sustainability’s triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit.
Lacey Everett
Lacey Everett serves as MIBOR’s Director of Political Affairs and Engagement. She has been part of the MIBOR team since 2011, starting in Communications and Marketing as MIBOR was planning its Centennial celebration. She then moved into the Government and Community Relations Department where she has served the past 4 years.

Previously, Lacey served as E-Communications Manager for Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, Press Coordinator for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration and as a PR/Media intern with United Way of Central Indiana.
Mark Fisher
Mark Fisher serves as the Chief Policy Officer for the Indy Chamber. In this role, Mark is responsible for the overall development and implementation of Chamber’s policy and political initiatives, while focusing his efforts on Economic & Community Development, Transportation, Local Government, and Fiscal Policy matters. Mark began his career at the Indy Chamber as a public policy intern and has served in various capacities, including Director of Engagement and Interim President of Develop Indy (Indianapolis Economic Development Corporation) through its merger with the Indy Chamber. A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Mark has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a certificate in Business, a minor in Economics from Indiana University- Bloomington and a Master’s of Public Affairs from Indiana University- Indianapolis.
